SWPA Area Agency on Aging

The mission of Southwestern Pennsylvania Area Agency on Aging, Inc. is to promote the well-being of older adults through a planned, coordinated and collaborative program of health and social services.

The Area Agency on Aging subcontracts with 34 local agencies to provide a comprehensive service delivery system for older adults. Wherever feasible, consumers are given the opportunity to choose among a variety of qualified providers. While many services are provided through the development of subcontracts, others are provided directly by the Area Agency on Aging.

Senior Community CentersThe Agency provides a full range of programs and services including:

  • adult day care
  • advocacy
  • employment assistance
  • home and community-based services
  • home-delivered meals
  • health promotion
  • information and assistance
  • legal assistance
  • person centered counseling
  • protective services
  • senior community centers
  • transportation

Flu Shots Schedule (Click here to view full list)

The above attached flu shot sites have been established, to date, in Fayette, Greene and Washington Counties.

For more information on sites administering shots, call your local senior center, the Area Agency on Aging nearest you, or look at the Department of Health Flu Vaccine Finder online at www.health.pa.gov/topics/disease/Flu/Pages/Clinics.aspx

Please note: Medicare Part B will cover the cost of the influenza vaccine and its administration; however, participants must have their Red-White-and Blue cards with them.  Fees for persons without coverage vary according to the provider.
